Frequently Asked Questions
The Station App
The Station App is a branded iPhone and Android app that gives listeners one place to access your livestream, podcasts, on-demand programs, sharing, following, notifications, and more.
Discovery, Standard, and Premium all provide access to your Station App, powered by Godcaster, but the listener experience is different.
Discovery relies on listeners finding your station inside the Godcaster app, and Set as Home.
Standard adds direct Station Links and QR Codes that take listeners directly to your station, while still allowing them to discover local stations, podcasts, and streams within the app.
Premium also uses direct Station Links and QR Codes, but creates a station-focused experience. Your station becomes Home, opens first when the app launches, and local station, podcast, and stream discovery is turned off by default so the experience stays centered on your brand and content.
This article explains how each experience works, how listeners access your station, and when it makes sense to move from Discovery to Standard or Premium. Understanding Discovery, Standard, and Premium
The most successful stations consistently promote their Station Link and QR Code, encourage listeners to Follow programs, enable notifications, share content, use Recent and Queue features, and listen through CarPlay and Android Auto. These habits increase engagement, content discovery, and repeat listening. Learn more about Station App best practices, listener engagement, and content discovery in this article. Getting the Most from Your Station App
Yes. From your Digital Station Dashboard, you can program Custom Links and Open Mic without updating your app. Add quick-access links for social media, prayer requests, contact information, events, giving, or websites, and enable Open Mic so listeners can send voice messages, prayer requests, testimonials, questions, contest entries, and more directly to your station.
Yes. Add your Digital Station PWA to your existing church app, such as Subsplash. Your church app can remain the main hub, while listeners can also use the Godcaster Station App for native listening, including CarPlay and Android Auto.
Yes. A Digital Station can offer multiple livestreams. Listeners select the stream they want, with one stream playing at a time on their device.
Keep your existing church app for church activities and offer Godcaster as another listening destination, particularly for in-car listening. Promote your Station Link or QR code where it helps listeners most.
Godcaster Radio Network
Godcaster Radio Network (GRN) gives you your own branded, professionally programmed 24/7 Christian music station, complete with local station IDs, promotions, weather, and news. Music licensing is included, with no additional cost to your Godcaster subscription.

In the Dashboard, go to Players > Settings and find Enable Godcaster Radio Network.
Yes. You can change the GRN location in your station settings.
No. GRN is a standardized, ready-to-use station. If you need custom imaging or programming, ask about Fractional Program Director (FPD).
This is coming to GRN, but it's not available just yet. We're working through the technical approach, particularly how to trigger a live takeover without requiring a scheduled time in the dashboard. Contact Support to confirm whether that capability has been added.
Use clear podcast titles, accurate descriptions, and descriptive episode metadata. GRN uses podcast descriptions, metadata, and transcripts to help create relevant promotions.
This can happen when you join during a promotional insert or while a station is initializing. Initial inserts may take about 20–45 minutes to enter rotation. If it continues frequently, close and reopen the app and contact Support.
Fractional Program Director & Voice Tracking
FPD lets you build and manage your own 24/7 radio station using simple spoken or typed instructions. Manage music rotations, program schedules, station IDs, promos, and voice tracking—all without complicated scheduling software. You review and approve changes before they go on air.
Read how it works and more: The Fractional Program Director & Voice Tracking
FPD is a separate service for building and managing a custom music station with greater programming control. GRN is a simple, professionally programmed station with limited customization.
Yes. You can use the available music package and accept its updates, or provide your own music files. You can add or remove music from your own library.
Yes. FPD can provide audio to Live365. You are responsible for arranging the appropriate Live365 service and music licensing.
Not necessarily. FPD is built for custom digital radio programming; it may not replace every function of a traditional broadcast automation system. Contact Godcaster to review your specific requirements.
A seasonal station may be preserved through a server-freeze arrangement. Contact Godcaster for the current options and pricing before shutting down or repurposing a server.
Yes, but repurposing the server means the original station configuration cannot simply be restored; it would need to be rebuilt.

Podcast Feeds
Podcast apps update RSS feeds on their own schedules. Even if a change appears in Apple Podcasts or the Podcast Index, other apps may take hours or days to refresh—or may not reflect certain changes at all.
This is normal behavior across the podcast ecosystem and is not something Godcaster or any publisher can fully control.
For details on why this happens and best practices for publishing, see Podcast Feed Update Timing & Propagation.
If a podcast isn’t updating, it’s almost always because the show’s RSS feed hasn’t been updated at the source or in the major podcast directories. Godcaster reflects the feed that is publicly available through the podcast ecosystem. In some cases, a program may have stopped offering on-demand content or discontinued podcast distribution altogether. Learn more by reading Why Podcasts Sometimes Don’t Update — And What Stations Should Do.
No. Podcast episodes are uploaded and managed through the hosting provider, such as RSS.com. For a large batch of files, ask RSS.com Support about bulk-upload or assisted-import options.
Related: RSS.com support
Moving the RSS feed does not necessarily transfer control of Apple Podcasts or Spotify listings. Confirm the account that originally submitted the show and work with the directory and your original host to update ownership and feed settings.
Godcaster previously corrected an issue where its feed aggregator displayed HTML tags from descriptions. If it happens again, send Support the program name, feed URL, and an example so we can investigate.

Player Features & Navigation
Placing your Digital Station at the top of your homepage makes listening immediate and frictionless. Most visitors arrive with intent to listen—live or on-demand. When the player is highly visible, you increase listening starts, deepen session engagement, and keep users inside your ecosystem where you retain first-party data and support pathways.
Top placement isn’t just a design choice—it reinforces that your station is audio-first and protects long-term digital growth. Read more at Why Your Digital Station Should be Placed at the Top of Your Homepage.
In your Dashboard, open Programs and drag items into the order you want. To reorder programs within a Collection, open Collections and drag them there. New additions appear first by default.
Yes. A program can be featured in the main player lineup and also included in a category-based Collection.
Wix may delay loading embedded elements until they are visible. Try the original working embed or the Wix Custom Element method, and test on desktop and mobile. If the issue continues, send Support a video or screenshot.
In Wix, add a Custom Element, set its tag name to gcfm-wix-player, and use the station-specific Wix player URL supplied by Godcaster. Make the element full width on mobile, preview, and confirm it works before removing the old embed.
Featured Programs can differ by player, but Channels are shared within an account. For completely independent Channels and content, a separate account may be necessary. Contact Support before adding another account.
Giving & Support
Because linking into your digital station keeps listener engagement, data, support, and SEO value inside your ecosystem — while external links send that value away.
When your website links off-site, you lose listener tracking, attribution, brand visibility in the giving moment, and long-term SEO strength. When you link to the program inside your digital station, listening stays within your platform — allowing you to retain first-party data, guide the support pathway, strengthen your domain authority, and position your station as the digital home of the program.

Yes. Banner Inserts support clickable, tracked links to sponsor websites, giving pages, registrations, and other destinations.

Banner Inserts can appear on the Digital Station Home screen, including rotating banners, or alongside individual programs and podcasts.

Yes. Use audio inserts for sponsor messages, donation appeals, station IDs, or announcements before or after an episode. The original audio file stays unchanged.

Content & Metadata
Godcaster analytics measure real listener activity inside your digital environment—such as plays, engagement, downloads, and support clicks. While no platform can determine the exact number of listeners, Godcaster provides first-party data that goes beyond industry-standard download metrics by showing what people actually do with your content.
In simple terms:
-
On-air = influence (not directly measured)
-
Godcaster = response (what listeners did next)
This article, Godcaster Metrics – Question-by-Question, explains how each metric works and how to interpret it correctly.
AI assistants can turn your exported Godcaster data into structured, leadership-ready insights — helping you measure engagement, understand giving activity, evaluate Live → On-Demand behavior, and identify strategic opportunities.
To ensure accurate results, Godcaster provides a structured reporting framework that improves consistency across AI tools and prevents incorrect attribution or fabricated conclusions.

Create banner inserts at approximately 3000 × 600 pixels, keep the file under 2 MB, and place your headline, button, and logo where they remain easy to see on both desktop and mobile devices.

They are three different ways to organize and stream your church’s audio — live, curated, or scheduled — all inside your Digital Station.

Setting up YourTown Live involves gathering a few basic assets (station name, station IDs, promos, local temperature location, and any podcasts you want featured), securing music licensing if you plan to stream licensed music, and then letting Godcaster spin up and configure your 24/7 station for you. Once launched, you can manage content through the Library, schedule podcasts of any length, add church or community promos, and take the station live at any time using tools like Riverside, OBS, or BoxCast. The system automatically handles scheduling, transitions, recordings, and returns to regular programming—so the station stays live with minimal ongoing effort.

The Dashboard currently emphasizes the current and previous month. Download and save monthly CSV reports to build your historical record.
No. We do not routinely download and archive reports for every station. Each station should retain its own monthly exports. We are happy to help analyze available data and prepare executive reports.
Related: Using AI to Generate Accurate Monthly Executive Reports from Godcaster Data
Yes, if the necessary historical data is available. Without complete records for the comparison periods, we cannot provide a reliable year-over-year or quarter-over-quarter analysis.
The Dashboard shows leading programs and episodes but does not currently offer a dedicated downloadable Top 50 list. All programs and episodes can be numerically listed with an Executive Report. Contact Support if you need a detailed report from available data.
App download totals are not currently included in standard customer reporting. Godcaster reports what listeners do within your Digital Station, including listening, sharing, and other engagement.
Godcaster cannot measure playback occurring in a standalone player outside its Digital Station unless supported tracking is integrated. Bringing those streams into your Digital Station provides a more connected listening and reporting experience.
Technical & Admin
Yes. Use the tracked funding_url returned by the Godcaster API exactly as provided. Program links use go.godcaster.fm/act/fu/… and station links use go.godcaster.fm/act/su/…. Do not modify these URLs.
Yes. Send a POST request to https://godcaster.fm/api/v1/player/{player_id}/track with action “play” or “resume,” a stable per-device ID (did), and the program and episode titles. The endpoint returns 204 on success and is limited to 60 requests per minute per IP. See the Godcaster API Postman collection for the Track playback request.
Redirecting audio files can interfere with seeking. Godcaster records play and resume activity through a separate tracking request.
Additional user access may be available, but changes made through separate accounts may not synchronize. Use one designated account for configuration changes; contact Support for help with account access.
Confirm whether an authorized administrator changed the account email. If the password reset does not recognize your address, contact your organization’s administrator or Godcaster Support. Do not share passwords over email.
